Episode Summary:In this episode of Mom’s Roadmap Home, I tackle a question many moms face: Is self-care selfish or self-centered? From a biblical perspective, I explore how self-care is not only about taking care of yourself but also about honoring God through wise stewardship of the life He’s given you. I share seven areas of self-care—spiritual, emotional, physical, social, creative, quiet time, and purpose—and provide practical steps to integrate these into your daily life.
Key Takeaways:
Self-care for Christian moms is about stewardship—caring for our mind, body, and spirit to serve God and others better.
Practical self-care includes spiritual connection, emotional resilience, physical rest, and joyful expression.
Start small and embrace self-care as an act of worship that equips you to fulfill God’s calling.
Timestamps and Highlights:
[0:00] – Introduction to biblical self-care and the question: Is self-care selfish or God-honoring?
[3:06] – Spiritual self-care: Practical ways to nourish your connection with God, including daily devotionals and prayer walks.
[6:33] – Emotional self-care: Cultivating gratitude, seeking forgiveness, and focusing on God’s truth to lighten your heart.
[8:29] – Physical self-care: The importance of rest, healthy eating, and observing a Sabbath for holistic renewal.
[12:44] – Social self-care: Building faith-filled connections through fellowship and prayer.
[14:21] – Creative self-care: Expressing worship through art, journaling, and joyful activities.
[15:31] – Quiet time: Finding stillness in God’s presence for strength and guidance.
[17:29] – Purpose and goals: Setting faith-based goals aligned with God’s calling for your life.
What You'll Learn:
Spiritual self-care strengthens your connection with God and sets the foundation for all other areas.
Emotional well-being is fostered by gratitude, forgiveness, and focusing on what is praiseworthy.
Physical self-care includes rest, nutrition, and honoring the Sabbath as a God-given gift.
Fellowship with others and creative expression can renew your spirit and reflect God’s love.
Quiet time with God is vital for listening to His voice and gaining perspective.
Setting faith-based goals helps align your priorities with God’s purpose for you.
Listener Challenge:Choose one area of self-care to focus on this week. Start small and commit to one new habit, like daily quiet time or journaling three things you’re grateful for. Trust God to guide you as you honor Him through self-care.

Episode Summary:In today’s episode of Mom's Roadmap Home, I share my inspiring journey from a corporate career to becoming a stay-at-home mom, finding work-from-home opportunities, and relying on God to provide through every step. This episode is particularly for moms who are unsure about their ability to stay home with their children due to financial constraints or limited work-from-home options. I’m here to remind you that God has a unique path for each of us–you just have to have faith in starting small, trusting that God will multiply your efforts and bring blessings from what may seem like humble beginnings.
Key Takeaways:
Start Small and Stay Faithful: Even the smallest job can lead to bigger blessings if we remain consistent and faithful.
God’s Timing and Provision: My personal stories illustrate that God often provides in unexpected ways, especially when we place our trust in Him.
Biblical Stories of Multiplication: Stories such as the widow’s mite and the feeding of the 5,000 remind us that God multiplies small offerings given in faith.
Important Reminder: Faith and prayer are essential in pursuing a work-from-home journey
It’s Okay to Start Small: Small jobs and volunteer roles can lead to greater opportunities
Highlights and Timestamps:
[2:05] – My journey from a corporate job to becoming a stay-at-home mom and the process of trusting God’s timing.

[19:30] – Encouragement for moms to be patient and trust God with their dreams of working from home and staying present with their families.
Biblical References:
Mark 12:41-44: The Widow’s Mite, illustrating the power of giving what little we have in faith.
John 6:1-14: The Feeding of the 5,000, showing how God multiplies what’s offered to Him.
Additional Resources:If you're a mom interested in exploring small work-from-home options, I recommend starting with flexible roles in areas like customer service, freelance writing, or online tutoring. Take some time to research reputable remote job sites to get started—there are so many opportunities out there that can fit around your family’s needs.
Listener Challenge:Think about a small job or opportunity that God might be calling you to start. Pray for guidance, commit to being faithful in that role, and trust that God will work through it in His time.

You, perhaps, know the story of Moses: the baby put in the basket to save his life, rescued by Pharaoh’s daughter, raised as a prince of Egypt, and became a shepherd in Midian. It was in Midian that he got his most important assignment, and it was here that he doubted his abilities the most.
This lesson from Moses will help you identify the tools God has equipped you with and how those tools can lead you to your ideal work-from-home situation.
To find a work-from-home job or business idea that makes your heart sing, you need to find something that aligns with your values, gifts, and passions and that you can realistically commit to while balancing your family’s needs.

It's almost Mother's Day which means the school year is almost over. For some of you, it has been a good year so far. The systems you put in place allowed you to flow through your morning routines, your kids thrived at school, and your evening routines went smoothly. You've got it down!
But for others, this has been a tough school year. Mornings were crazy. You're still determining how you managed to get the kids to school with the right clothes on. And you sometimes had to give them money for lunch as they jumped out of the car because you forgot to pack their lunchboxes that morning.
Your kids struggled at school--whether from not understanding the lessons or not getting along with the other kids. They hate going and you hate sending them. Your evenings are just as chaotic as you try to juggle homework, dinner prep, and getting the kids to bed at a decent hour. Your day leaves you exhausted, discouraged, and wishing for a different life.
What if it's your dream to stay home with your kids, maybe even homeschool them?
What if you could quit your 9 to 5 and come home and find a way to earn extra income from home?
What if you could be the one raising your kids, influencing them, selecting their curriculum, and teaching them your values and beliefs?
What if you could believe that your dream will come true?

Activating the plan requires taking a step in faith. This step will require some unrealistic faith—faith that holds on to God’s promises and His character of love. Faith that sees obstacles as opportunities for God to show His might.
Unrealistic faith believes in what it cannot see. It defies reality, and it’s what God is looking for in us. God wants to do more for you and through you. He’s waiting for you to take that first step in faith.
